A picturesque village hidden in forest and rolling hills. The Denmark River, the aboriginal meaning for the river is “Place of the Black Swan” flows into a protected inlet, then flows into the Southern Ocean. It was a timber town originally and then farming made a mark, mainly dairy. Offers great surfing beaches. Superb ocean views, with inlets ideal for fishing, windsurfing and water-skiing. Take a drive along the Tourist route extending approximately 34 kilometers. Visit the Alpaca stud, view the towering Karri trees, stop at a local boutique wineries for a taste of the local produce. Join up to the Bibbulmun track and wander on foot for a 2-4 hour trek take in the breathtaking views. Go shopping at one of the many galleries take home a reminder of this delightful area.
