The island is mainly limestone reefs and has a combination of temperate and tropical species of fish (Nudibranch, Wobbegongs, Old Wife, Magpie Marwong, Stingaree, Blue Devil and rays, to name a few!). Rottnest Island is regarded as the best location to dive of any capital city in Australia, with its caverns, historical shipwrecks, great visibility and water temperature ranging 19-24 degrees Celsius.
