Coral Bay

Coral Bay is premier tourism destination located in Australia's unique North West, and is full of natural wonders. With a diverse range of activities it is ideal for independent traveller searching for excitement, snorkellers, scuba divers, anglers and those who simply want to relax, unwind and see nature at its very best.

Upon arrival in this lush, green oasis, the amazing contrast of pristine white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters againset the starkness of the landscape will not fail to impress.

One or the most spectacular wonders the area has to offer is the coral and marine life found on the Ningaloo reef, the largest coral fringing reef in the world. The reef stretches from North to South for 260km, supports over 500 different varieties of fish and comprises more than 220 species of coral.

Coral stretches out from the shoreline for approximately 2km. First time snorkellers find these protected waters provide an ideal envirnment to discover the underwater world.

For the very young to the more mature traveller, snorkelling in Coral Bay is both safe and easily accessible. Fish come right into the shore, daily to be fed. During this time you may see North West Snapper. Parrot Fish, Mullet, Wrasse, Fusiliers and much more.

The area directly surrounding Coral Bay is a sanctuary zone, thus a multiude of fish life can be found. As you swim off the shore you will be greeted by the friendly Spangled Emperor(locally known as North-West Snapper and as you venture over stunning coral formations you will see hundreds of varieties of colouful tropical fish.

The Coral Bay area boasts a fine array of marine life, including Dugongs, Turtles, Dolphins, the awesome Humpback Whales, majestic Manta Rays and the mighty Whale Sharks.

Western Australia is also favoured with sunsets that sink over the ocean. Pelple who enjoy dusks of burning orange, or magical mauves will find these hard to beat. And for the stargazers at this latitude close to the equator, you will find the evening skies full of brilliance. The stars at Coral Bay provide a spectacular show that takes you to the end of the universe.

This coastline includes miles and miles of deserted,white beaches that offer privacy and adventure. During walks you may see turtles laying their eggs(in seaseon), dolphins playing off shore, manta rays feeding and many different land and see birds. In certain areas at particular times of the year you can also watch baby reef sharks swimming from the beach.
